We arrived at the airport about 3
hours early and had plenty of time to park, check in, get through security
and find our gate. This flight Lea had her own seat and she sat in the
middle between the 2 of us. She loves flying. The stewardess passed out a
blow up airplane to all the children on board and we played with that before
she took a little nap. We landed, got to walk a little bit across the
airport runway to immigrations, then claimed our baggage and went through
customs. Everything going like clockwork. Upon existing the customs area
with our bags, about 6 handlers circled me trying to get the bags from me to
take to the bus waiting for us outside (compensation expected). I made it
through without needing/getting their help, having to be a little strong,
forceful and on the aggressive side, but got the bags and the family on the
bus without problems. A 20 minute bus ride and we were there! Hotel,
beach, pool...all inclusive everything. One of the best point to point
travel experience I have ever had.
Andrea pre-requested a ground floor room, with an ocean view in front of the
playground and that is exactly what we got. Fantastic!!
The weather wasn't the best, but we managed to make it down to the beach on
our first late afternoon there. Once we got settled I noticed 3 guys on
camels running at us full speed. We must have had 'new arrival' written on
our shirts or something. I assume they have some type of 'camel guy'
communication with each other because only one ultimately approached us.
With a little bargaining, Lea and I rode the camel for about 35 seconds in a
small circle and had some pictures. I guess it is one of those things you
have to do. Lea was laughing and smiling the whole time so it was worth it
only for that.
On one day, Andrea and Lea spotted a camel within the hotel walls and
decided to ride again. They got the full service for half the price I
paid. She got some good pictures too.
Our days were pretty regular, breakfast, swimming pool, lunch, Lea nap,
beach, music and drinks before dinner, dinner, baby disco and sleep. Lea
really loved the pineapple juice prior to dinner. She also danced to the
music and provided entertainment for many of the other guest.
When walking into dinner, the animation team would be there greeting us and
they would pay special attention to Lea, she loved it. It took us a few
evenings to realize why Lea wanted to visit the toilet during every meal.
She loved having those greeters smiles and smooch with her.
There was an hour between dinner and baby disco where we walked around the
hotel grounds, admired the beautiful sunsets and the lights in the pools.
Evenings were warm and enjoyable. The hotel had a number of cats running
around, perhaps to eat the bugs or mice, no idea. There were many kittens
which provided lots of enjoyment for Lea.
We all loved baby disco. Dancing and singing. Lea is becoming a really
good dancer and she is confident and a person who likes to be in the middle
of the action.
Unfortunately we did not do a trip to Marrakesh like we wanted to. I think
we really just wanted to relax. It is a 4.5 hour drive, each way from
Agadir and we weren't sure how we could entertain Lea for those 9 hours in
the car. We did one 1 day do some shopping in Agadir. We got a taxi from
in front of the hotel and they drove us around for about 2-3 hours. We
visited the Casbar which overlooks Agadir, which is very beautiful. As
well, there is a small train car that takes you around the city for a very
reasonable price which Lea really enjoyed. Lea and I sang 'Clickady-clack,
clickady-clack the wheels go on the track, platform 1, platform 2, platform
3, you and me' for much of the drive on the train. It was fun.
The best part about the vacation as most vacations now, is that I get to
spend a significant amount of time with Lea. Working full-time I don't get
to see her much when I come home and weekends are for housework,
recuperation and etc... So I loved having each day to spend and play with
Lea and I look forward to our next adventure to who knows where.... |
